Andreas Deuber has been working at UAS Grisons since February 1, 2010. First, he was Director of Studies at Bachelor and Master level and from 2015 until end of 2020 Head of the Institute for Tourism and Leisure (ITF). Since January 1, 2021, Andreas Deuber is head of Internationalisation and University Cooperation. He continues to be a lecturer at the Institute for Tourism and Leisure and is Director of Studies of the further education programme « CAS Strategy with Impact » since August 2021. Andreas Deuber studied law at the University of St. Gallen and obtained his doctorate with a dissertation on an investment goods-related financing topic (forfaiting). He then worked for a major Swiss bank for 15 years, where he held various specialist and management positions in the financing and recovery area. One focus was on financial and strategic issues of the tourism and hotel industry. In 2000, he took over the management of the Swiss Company for Hotel Finance (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Hotelkredit, SGH), which he directed and reorganized until 2007. In this CEO-function he was also a board member of the Swiss Tourism Federation (Schweizerischer Tourismusverband). He then moved to UBS, where he was head of Real Estate Advisory for hotel and healthcare real estate. Later, he moved to the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons. Andreas Deuber's research and consulting focus is on hotel and tourism infrastructure with a particular focus on financing, governance and other management issues. In 2009, he was admitted to the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), the world's largest association of real estate professionals, on whose Swiss Management Board he served from 2013-2018. He is also a member of the Joint Management Committee of the cooperation between the UAS Grisons and the Shanghai University of Engineering Science, in the set-up of which he played a key role. Since 2018, Andreas Deuber has also been a member of the Board of Directors of St.Gallen-Bodensee Tourismus (a local tourism organization) and a member of the Board of Directors of Compark AG, Regensdorf (a company of the Wöhr Group in Germany, which specialises in smart parking solutions) and Grand Casino St.Gallen AG, a company of Swiss Casinos. Andreas Deuber is married and father of two grown-up sons. The family lives in St.Gallen. He is a sociable person, interested in sports and culture.
