Lutz E. Schlange, PhD, has been a Professor of Entrepreneurial Marketing at University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons since 1999. In his teaching and applied research, he feels driven by the vision to create benefit for the seventh generation into the future. At University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, he has inspired numerous students’ sustainability initiatives. He has initiated as well as coordinated the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education. As a co-founder and past-chair of PRME Chapter DACH, he is initiator and co-chair of the international RME research conference while serving as a member of the PRME advisory committee.
His research interests focus on the triad entrepreneurs – organizations – market- and customer orientation, while adopting a long-term future perspective (future studies) and a sustainability-driven purpose (sustainability entrepreneurship). In his consultancy, he concentrates on the fields of entrepreneurial management and organization development, entrepreneurial marketing, market and customer research embracing customers from SMEs as well as cantonal and communal bodies.
Lutz is a long-term member and past-president of the Swiss Association for Energy Economics SAEE. Amongst his memberships are swissfuture, alumni organizations of the Cologne University, Germany, and St. Gallen University, Verein energiefragen.GR, and AlpenForce Foundation.
At international research conferences, his academic contributions received best paper awards. He has published in leading scientific journals in the fields of strategic management and business policy, entrepreneurship, marketing and service management as well as futures research, while serving as reviewer for scientific journals such as JBV, IJME, BAS, GMI, and Futures.
Lutz has studied management sciences at Albertus-Magnus-Universität zu Köln, Germany. As a fellow of Community of European Business Schools (CEMS), he was at HEC Paris, France, and at ESADE Business School, Barcelona Spain. In 2007 he was a guest professor at University of Melbourne, Australia.
His PhD dissertation at St. Gallen University focused on questions of principle concerning business policy decision-making and governance in the electric utility industry. Prior to University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, he was a member of the board at The Centre for Futures Research, St. Gallen.
Lutz E. Schlange is born from Cologne, Germany. A citizen of the capital of the canton of Grisons, he lives with his family in Chur. As an outdoor sports enthusiast, he indulges in his passions around the stunning alpine environment of the Grisons.
