The city of Chur has around 37,000 inhabitants. As the oldest city in Switzerland, it has a lot to tell and offer.
Picturesque streets, modern shopping options, cultural offers, cafés, restaurants and bars: the car-free Old Town almost has a Mediterannean flair about it. On hot days, the outdoor pool on the upper Au as well as the highly popular Badi Sand offer a place to cool off. Well-known events like the Churer Fest, the pop song parade or the Christmas market take place throughout the year.
However, the Alpine city also offers snow-covered mountains and pristine nature. The mountain railway drives directly from the city to Chur’s local mountain of Brambrüesch, which has its own ski area in winter and an Alpine bike park in summer.
