The mixture of work and vacation has an impact on the way we travel. This change is mainly due to technological developments that make it possible to work outside the workplace, even on vacation. As a result, the hybrid tourism product called workation challenges the traditional concept of tourism. Alpine tourism destinations are no longer just vacation destinations but are increasingly becoming work destinations as well. This Bachelor Thesis investigates how workation influences the positioning of alpine tourism destinations in Switzerland. Besides, it examines why alpine tourism destinations in Switzerland should consider the needs of workationers and how these needs might impact destination requirements.
