This organizational form is characterized by dispersion regarding location, organization and/or time as well as electronic communication media as main communication and coordination tools. This Master Thesis contains a systematic literature review considering the latest (published between 2008 and 2016) empirical studies researching on virtual teams. Its objective is to outline which factors impact the effectiveness of virtual teams, bring the results into a framework, illustrate how they are related to each other and derive need for further research. The developed framework and consolidated information regarding factors impacting virtual team effectiveness provide a basis for both, application by virtual team leaders and further development by researchers.
