FN ISI Export Format VR 1.0 PT J TI Open the doors to Chinese winter guests in the Swiss Alps AF Süss, Fabienne AU Süss, F AB China is a new touristic target market for Switzerland and is already delivering satisfying numbers of overnight stays in summer, but the winter months are still hiding potential. Despite the enormous potential, relatively little research has been conducted into attitudes toward travel of potential Chinese outbound tourists to the Swiss Alps. The Chinese outbound tourism is entering its second phase (also known as «second wave»), bringing new opportunities and challenges to destinations and tourism service providers worldwide. At this junction, new and innovative product offers and programmes, designed for Chinese tourists are requested. This bachelor thesis uses the knowledge of eight Chinese skiing instructors, such as detailed expert inputs and elaborates recommendations, how specific offers for Chinese winter guests should look like. Further, it will be explored, based on an extensive literature review, which needs and expectations this second wave traveller has, which steps key players shall take in a destination network and which role the ski school can play in future.
