As a reference object, the monitoring system of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch in Switzerland is examined and tested for options to optimize it. Biosphere reserves face challenges in the availability of financial and human resources for monitoring purposes. Systematic data collection is therefore tricky. A monitoring system in the biosphere environment must be easy to use and provide a comprehensive picture of biological, economic, and social developments. Visualizations should present these developments in an understandable way for all stakeholders. In the work on which this paper is based, common visualization tools were examined, and a prototype for a possible dashboard was created using the selected software, Microsoft PowerBI. Finally, the learning effects are highlighted. ER
