For this purpose, a machine vision system was developed for the optical inspection of the CEDES code tape. The aim of the thesis was to create a system capable of replacing the current inspection system. In addition, the new system was designed not only to test the functionality of the code tape, but also to assess its quality. For this, the optimal camera, lens and illumination were evaluated and a graphical user interface was developed to allow easy interaction with the system. Through this interface, various settings can be configured, a live image is displayed and information about detected errors is shown. In the background, various modules are executed to perform the inspection task. The system detects errors in the code information, assesses the opacity of the print and determines the completeness of individual code tape pixels to reject code tape sections of inferior quality. ER
