To know the driving factors and motivations of guests’ visits as well as their satisfaction with the attractions is therefore a key element of success for a national park visitor centre. Due to that fact the aim of this thesis is to provide a qualitative analysis of the guests in the new national park visitor centre. More precisely to find out guests’ motives for the visit, their satisfaction about the centre itself and its attractions as well as socio-demographic variables about the visitors. In brief this thesis consists out of a theoretical part, which contains a literature review that analyses environmental influences on national park tourism as well as its economical benefits. The second part of the thesis describes the research design and illustrates the results of 99 guided interviews which were made with guests in the visitor centre in Zernez between March and May 2009. Finally in the third part of the thesis, conclusions as well as recommendations for future improvement are disclosed. ER
