In recent times these “alpine shelters” have experienced far-reaching developments which affected their spartan nature. Using the southern part of Switzerland, Ticino, as case study the following Bachelor Thesis will try to evaluate which factors will have the greatest impact on the development of Mountain Huts. The perspectives of the main actors revolving around the environment of the SAC-CAS Mountain Huts represent the core knowledge on which the following analysis has been built. The discussion has then been structured in three different sections, starting with the assessment of today’s Hut situation the analysis will then move to the factors affecting their development and how the Huts might look in the future.
