How do we satisfy their needs and make them feel safe and comfortable during their travels? This qualitative study sets out to explore the under-researched and under-catered segment of solo female travellers while simultaneously examining the desirability and readiness of Zürich as a potential destination for the market in question. By conducting in-depth semi-structured interviews, solo female travellers got a chance to talk about their experiences which were analysed in order to gain a better understanding of this niche traveller segment. In accordance, interviews with the organisations responsible for the marketing and branding of Zürich were conducted to examine the potential and preparedness of this destination. The findings from the interviews were analysed concurrently, and a list of recommendations was compiled to better the positioning of Zürich in the corresponding market.
