Ahmet Alper Özüdogru
Research associate
Swiss Institute for Information Science (SII), Department of Applied Future Technologies
Ahmet Alper Özüdogru studied computer science at ETH Zurich, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. His Master's thesis at Harvard University focused on causal inference using diffusion models. He has experience in backend and AI engineering, as well as kernel development and GPU programming at Huawei. In previous research, he also investigated clustering algorithms. At the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (FHGR), he works on the CALM project, developing software and language models that identify and classify relevant events in commodity markets from news sources. Furthermore, he explores how news data can be combined with weather, agricultural, energy, and market data to better assess uncertainties and risks in commodity supply chains. His primary focus lies in probabilistic models for estimating physical commodity supply under alternative disruption scenarios.
