Julia Wussler completed her degree in Political Science, Islamic Studies (Arabic and Persian) and Sociology in 2012, graduating with a Magister Artium (equivalent to a Master’s degree) from the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg in Germany. During her studies, she gained her first professional experience at the university’s International Office and through internships in countries outside Europe (the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Jordan and Iraq, the Goethe-Institut in Ghana, the Orient-Institut in Beirut, Lebanon, and the German Embassy in Kampala, Uganda). She also spent a year studying in Cairo, Egypt, whilst at university. From 2013 to 2026, she held various roles at ETH Zurich, focusing on international relations, non-European exchange programmes including partnerships (particularly with the USA), European inter-university networks and alliances, and international students. She will join the International Office at FHGR from August 2026.
