
Franca Hess studied Media Studies and German Language and Literature (BA) as well as Digital Humanities and German Language and Literature (MA) at the University of Basel. During her studies, she focused in particular on language and communication, as well as digital methods in the humanities.
Alongside her studies, she gained a wide range of practical experience in the fields of media, culture and education. Among other things, she completed internships at the St. Galler Tagblatt, the Museum Baselland and in public relations at the Specialist Unit on Forced Marriage, the federal government’s centre of expertise. There, she was involved in the editorial development of information and educational materials, as well as in communication and awareness-raising projects.
She then worked as a content producer at the Sales Academy of Zurich Insurance, where she developed digital learning formats and supported the planning of training programmes.
She later took on the role of Project Coordinator at the AO Foundation, where she coordinated international fellowship and mentoring programmes and contributed to the development of e-learning and communication formats.
