Ana Petrus holds the position of Professor for Data Management at the Swiss Institute for Information Science at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (Fachhochschule Graubünden). Her research focuses on data management in STEM and interdisciplinary fields, as well as on FAIR principles and Open Science. She teaches data management and courses in computer science and business informatics.

Prof. Dr. Petrus is actively involved in several research-related initiatives, including her membership in the LIBER Research Data Management Working Group and the scientific advisory board of the data management portal olos.swiss. She was also instrumental in developing best practices and guidelines for data management plans during the first phase of the swissuniversities Data Life Cycle Management (DLCM) project. Prior to her current position, Ana Petrus worked as a consultant and lecturer in research data management at the Library of ETH Zurich, where she provided guidance and instruction to researchers and students on all aspects of the data life cycle. She was also instrumental in establishing and running the Research Data Management Summer School at ETH Zurich.

Before transitioning to information science, Prof. Dr. Petrus worked for many years in climate research and education. After completing her PhD in atmospheric physics at the ETH Zurich, where she graudated in environmental sciences, Ana Petrus participated in international projects with the Climatology Group of the University of Bern, the Center for Climate Systems Modeling at ETH Zurich, and the Terrestrial Systems Ecology Group at ETH Zurich. Her primary research interests during that time were centered on climate modeling, systems analysis, and environmental data management. In parallel, she continued her education in higher education didactics and project management, holding a teaching certificate by ETH Zurich and being a certified IPMA Level C project manager.
