Overview

You can attend a wide range of bachelor’s, master’s and further education courses at University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons.

Bachelor’s degree programmes

A bachelor’s degree programme represents the first level of study in the Swiss higher education system and comprises 180 ECTS credits. Admission to a bachelor’s degree programme generally requires a federally recognised school-leaving certificate (Matura) or an equivalent foreign qualification. With a bachelor’s degree programme, you obtain a university degree that qualifies you for your chosen profession within three (full-time study) or four (part-time study) years. An employment level of no more than 60% is permitted alongside part-time study.

Master’s degree programmes

Master of Science (MSc) are master’s degree programmes that follow on directly from a bachelor’s degree programme or that require the completion of a bachelor’s degree programme in advance. A Master of Science can serve to deepen the scientific knowledge acquired during a previous study programme or open up new areas of knowledge. These courses are also referred to as consecutive or follow-on master’s degrees. An employment level of no more than 60% is permitted alongside the study programme.

Executive MBA

Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) are master’s degree programmes provided in the area of further education. Focussing on management themes, they are aimed specifically at managers and individuals with extensive professional experience. The objective is to expand the management and leadership expertise of the participants.

Master of Advanced Studies (MAS)

Masters of Advanced Studies (MAS) are immersion or specialisation programmes (previously referred to as post-graduate studies) that comprise at least 60 ECTS credits and include a master’s thesis. They are aimed at individuals who already have extensive professional experience.

Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS)

Diplomas of Advanced Studies (DAS) are further education programmes provided on a job-concurrent basis for which at least 30 ECTS credits must be achieved. Graduates of these programmes complete their studies with a diploma thesis and are awarded a diploma.

Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS)

Certificates of Advanced Studies (CAS) are further education programmes provided on a job-concurrent basis for which at least 10 ECTS credits must be achieved. A CAS is completed with the awarding of a certificate. CAS can often be combined and thus lead to the gaining of – depending on the offering – an MAS.

Specialist courses

Specialist courses cover training courses, diplomas and other courses for which no qualification at EMBA, MAS, DAS or CAS level is available. A certificate or diploma is awarded for some specialist courses.
