The University of Applied Sciences of Graubünden views internationalization not only as the mobility of students or staff, but also as a substantively grounded, strategically anchored collaboration with international partner universities, particularly in the areas of research and development.

UAS Grisons is awarded the Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education

At the end of October 2026, UAS Grisons was awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) by the European Commission. The ECHE defines the quality framework for European and international activities under the Erasmus+ programme and is a prerequisite for higher education institutions to be able to submit and manage funding applications for mobility and cooperation from 2027 onwards.

Erasmus+ Association from 2027

Switzerland aims to resume full participation in the European Erasmus+ education programme from summer 2027. Approval of the Erasmus+ funding by the Swiss Parliament is still pending and is expected by December 2026.

For the UAS Grisons, this opens up new opportunities for students and staff: Expanded mobility opportunities, closer cooperation with European partner institutions, and greater integration into international higher education networks.

If Switzerland’s association with Erasmus+ is not confirmed, the existing Swiss European Mobility Programme, funded by the federal government and administered by Movetia, will continue. This programme will continue to facilitate mobility and participation in selected cooperation schemes but will offer only limited access to Erasmus+ funding opportunities. Further information.
