The application is normally submitted in the parents' canton of residence.

Private foundations

Private foundations

Private foundations and funds can provide students with financial support - for example for stays abroad or for certain subjects.

In some cases, it is also possible to apply for financial support from your local authority. It is best to enquire at the municipal office of your municipality of residence.

The number of foundations that also award scholarships is large and confusing. You can search for a suitable foundation using the Swiss Confederation's directory of foundations.

Some examples of foundations are listed below:

Students in the field of information and communication technology.
  • Hirschmann Scholarship
Scholarships for Master's students at universities of applied sciences. Forty to fifty scholarships per year.
