Monika Engler is professor of economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Graubünden and project manager at the Center for Economic Policy Research. In addition, she leads project work on behalf of the government of the canton of St. Gallen in connection with the canton's health care (revision of the cantonal health law, strategy of the public hospitals). Previously, she worked at the finance department of the canton of St. Gallen, where she was responsible for the cantonal financial planning and advised the department on financial and economic policy issues. Monika Engler did her doctorate on the subject of redistribution at the University of St. Gallen and gained a wide range of experience in applied research in the fields of social and labor market policy.
Monika Engler researches and advises today in the areas of health care, the labor market environment (childcare outside the family) and public funding of services. Her clients include Innosuisse/CTI, the federal government, cantons and municipalities, professional associations and foundations.
Monika Engler is married, has two children and lives with her family in Oberschan in St. Gallen. She likes to spend her free time in the mountains.
