Before joining SIFE, Mathias Beck served as a Senior Researcher at the KOF Swiss Economic Institute at ETH Zurich and as a Lecturer at the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC) at ETH Zurich. His empirical research primarily focuses on innovation, digitalization, and strategic management.
He is Principal Investigator of the project “Digital Transformation: How It Changes Organisations, Performance, and Markets” within the framework of the Swiss National Research Programme “Digital Transformation” (NRP 77).
Dr. Beck holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, and also studied at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome. He earned his PhD in Management and Economics at the University of Zurich, where he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Entrepreneurship (Prof. Ulrich Kaiser), Technology and Innovation Management (Prof. Anja Schulze), and as a Research Associate at the Chair of Performance Management (Prof. Andrea Schenker-Wicki).
