Guiding themes

University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons works with guiding themes in which it offers teaching and further education, performs applied research and provides services. In doing so, it works in close cooperation with partners from the world of business and the general public. The guiding themes of Applied Future Technologies, Alpine Region Development and Entrepreneurial Management should also highlight the reversal of hierarchies and silo thinking as well as the interlinking of different fields and interdisciplinarity.

Alpine Region Development

In this guiding theme, University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons looks at living environments that are shaped by their natural settings and different usage forms. The research focus areas are Economic Policy, Development of Tourism and Construction in Alpine Regions.

Applied Future Technologies

In this guiding theme, applications of key technologies are developed in the specialist fields of Advanced and Smart Sensors / Internet of Things, Big Data and Analytics, Information Organisation as well as Media Convergence and Multimediality.

Entrepreneurial Management

The objective of promoting entrepreneurial activities in all areas of society lies at the heart of the activities conducted in this guiding theme. Emphasis is placed on the two research focus areas of Private Entrepreneurship and Public Entrepreneurship.
