It was his strong passion for mountain sports and winter tourism that led Yannick Messmer to Chur after completing secondary school and a commercial apprenticeship at the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden, where he studied for a Bachelor's degree in Tourism from 2019 to 2022. During his studies, he developed a strong interest in topics at the interface of tourism marketing, digitalisation and behavioural economics. For this reason, he continued his education at the ZHAW in Winterthur with a Master's degree in Business Administration specialising in Marketing. At the same time, he worked for three years as student head of marketing at a foundation at the University of St. Gallen. He is also a regular FIS-licensed points judge at national and international snowboard competitions. He devotes his free time to snowboarding and mountain hiking, as well as experimental music and philosophical literature.
