It was his keen passion for mountain sports and winter tourism that led Yannick Messmer to Chur and the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons after completing secondary school and commercial training, where he completed a bachelor's degree in tourism from 2019 to 2022. During his studies, he developed a strong interest in topics at the intersection of tourism marketing, digitalisation and behavioural economics. He therefore continued his education at the ZHAW in Winterthur with a master's degree in business administration, specialising in marketing. At the same time, he worked for three years as a student marketing manager at a foundation at the University of St. Gallen. He is also a FIS-licensed judge and regularly officiates at national and international snowboard competitions. He spends his free time snowboarding and hiking in the mountains, as well as enjoying experimental music and philosophical literature.
