Prof. Jan Mosedale, PhD, is an expert in foresight, a university lecturer, co-head of research at the Institute for Tourism and Leisure, and founder of The FuturesCoach GmbH. He supports executives and organisations in exploring future opportunities and risks and developing long-term successful strategies. As director of studies of the Master’s in Tourism and Change, he bridges scientific research with practical application.
A focus of his work lies in the systematic creation of future scenarios, which enable companies and organisations to recognise potential opportunities and risks early and derive strategic courses of action. His work goes beyond the conceptual development of these scenarios: he develops and tests methods that help organisations remain adaptable, align internal processes and structures with future developments, and strategically position their operations toward long-term trends. In this way, future scenarios become an active tool for strategic decision-making, innovation processes, and transformation projects.
Through tailored workshops, creative methods, and practice-oriented research projects, he guides organizations in actively shaping change and achieving long-term success.
In his dual role as university lecturer and entrepreneur, Jan Mosedale combines scientific insights with practical future design, conveying this both in teaching the Master’s in Tourism and Change and in projects, consulting, and training formats for executives.
