DAViS forms an application-oriented centre in data science and has a partner in the SIAF (Swiss Institute for Allergy and Asthma Research) in Davos, which conducts internationally renowned research in the field of life science. In addition, there are practical application areas from medicine and industry, for example materials science and architecture. Machine learning opens up new areas of application in these fields, partly directly applied in data analysis, partly indirectly, for example through the possibility of predicting failures and machine failures through observation (predictive maintenance). Particularly interesting is also the possibility of linking data sets from different sources and creating unexpected added value through visualisation and learning procedures.
